Free organizing! Who doesn’t want that? Well it can be yours for the taking this Christmas morning. Want to learn how?
Picture this, it’s Christmas morning and what once was a tidy living room waiting for Santa to appear, now has a floor covered with wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, and boxes. Boxes that once held all those pretty little wrapped gifts. Those same boxes are now in a pile on the floor waiting to be thrown away. Does this sound all too familiar in your home on Christmas morning?
But this year there is a treasure hiding amongst that mess and before you decide the time has come to clean up the living room there is something you need to take inventory of – sturdy, free boxes. The boxes that once held an item you may have given as a gift to your husband. That item may have held his favorite gift this year, but it also has another great use – Free organizing!
Who knew the chaos of Christmas morning would send such an incredible gift! I must remember to send a thank you note!
Don’t get me wrong, if you are going for a certain look for a certain space in your home, for instance the pantry, then you will do better to buy your containers and have them all matching and uniformed. However, if you are looking to organize a sock drawer and this time of year you are finding your funds depleted, then a kids sized shoe box will work just fine and no one will be the wiser.
How many well made boxes do you throw away every year and wish you could think of a use for it. Now you can repurpose those boxes for your benefit.
Or maybe right now you don’t have a need for any free, sturdy boxes. Save them anyway! There might be a day in the near future you wished you had a box to store something in. Just be sure to throw them away if you haven’t used them within a certain period of time.
Ideas for Your Free Organizing Solutions
There are so many ideas for drawers and free organizing when you find the perfect fit in a box.
- envelops, return address labels, and stamps
- Sometimes when you are organizing something in a tote, for instance Christmas decorations, you have smaller items. I had small bells that rolled around the bottom of one of the Christmas totes until I found a small container that would hold them perfectly.
- Maybe you have other small items that can all be put together inside a small box that will go inside a tote.
- under your bathroom sink (when you have bottles that are too tall to put anywhere else)
- cleaning rags
The list is really endless on what you can use sturdy boxes for. I love organizing, but I must say – free organizing is a great Christmas gift that gives all year long.
So this year while you are doing your shopping for presents, keep in mind the container the present comes in can save you a good amount of money. And, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want to save money, especially this time of year.
